How Long Has the Company Been Around?
The company was started by Kody Bateman in 2002. Years ago, Kody and his family were leaving town and he had a prompting to tell his brother he loved him. He ignored the prompting and 3 months later his brother was killed leaving a wife and 3 kids. He decided he would never ignore a prompting again. SendOutCards is a creation of Kody's to allow people to act on promptings by IMMEDIATELY sending a card in the mail seconds after being inspired to do so.
II. Setting Things Up/Getting Started
Can I "Import" my contacts into the SendOutCards System?
Yes. On your Card Catalog Main Menu there is an "Import Contacts" link. Print the instructions and follow them. Its very simple. You can Import contacts from Act!, QuickBooks, Outlook, Outlook Express, Goldmine, If you get stumped, call SendOutCards support (the number is at the bottom of your screen)
How do I get my handwriting into the cards?
Print the Handwriting Font Form PDF off of the www.sendoutcards.com website. Go to www.sendoutcards.com. Put your arrow on "Products" and click on "Personalized Handwriting Font" Follow the instructions and mail it in. Print the form on a color printer, complete it with a black ball point and don't fold the form. Simply follow the instructions.
Where do I find the Training Webinars so I can review how to work the system?
Go to www.sendoutcards.com and put your arrow on TRAINING. Click on "System Coaching Webinars" each one is about 3 minutes.
How do I set up a "gift account"?
Make sure your "settings" are in place by clicking on "Automatic Gift Account" on your Main Menu. Come up with a unique, easy to remember user id and password. Give each account 6 points (3 cards) and 1.17 in postage. Make each account good for 7 days. Save the Settings. Have your Potential Cust/Dist go to www.sendoutcards.com and put in the USER ID and PASSWORD you created. Have them fill out the form online and create their own unique user ID and Password. They will then be taken into their own personal gift account. You can now walk them through sending a card.
Does Send Out Cards have a spell check?
No, it doesn't; yes, there's a work around. On both Firefox and Internet Explorer, you can install the Google Toolbar:
http://toolbar.google.com/ (This works on Mac and Windows machines). After installing Google Toolbar, You'll see an ABC Check dropdown. After filling out a card, click on this and it will spell-check for you. You can even add new words to dictionary which will reside on your computer. For some reason, it always thinks last name is misspelled.

III. Photos
How much extra is it for a photo in a card?
You can send up to 4 photos/card for only 1 point. It’s 1 point if you send 1, 2, 3, or 4 photos
How many photos can I send in a card?
You can send up to 4 photos - 2 regular size and 2 business card size. If you have 4 photos, you cannot include any text. The more text you include the smaller the font gets to accommodate the photo.
How do I put more then 1 photo/side of a card?
You need to put 1 business size and 1 regular size photo on a site to get 2/side. It doesn’t matter where they go. Once you have 2 photos, you cannot enter any text on that panel.

IV. Autoship of cards
What if a wholesale customer cancels their autoship?
A customer may add an autoship or cancel an autoship at anytime. A wholesale customer is required to be on a min. autoship of 32 points if they wish to purchase their points at the wholesale rate of 31 cents/point. Extra points never expire. Additional points can be quickly and easily purchased at any time on the website. No contracts exist. You may increase or decrease your automatic credit amount or stop and start it as often as you want – just note you will pay retail price if you don’t have Autoship activated.
What if a distributor cancels their autoship?
You must wait six months to renew the autoship into your account. Points purchased during that six month period are available to you at the retail rate of $0.49 per point.

V. Sending/Receiving Cards
Are there any restrictions to where I can send cards?
No. You can send a card anywhere in the world. When you are setting up the address or addressing a card, drop down the "Country" menu and select the country you want to send the card to. It will automatically meter the mail with the correct postage and deduct that amount from your expense account.
If I have a friend or family member that is ill or grieving and I want to get the word out to everyone to send them a card, can I e-mail you?
Go to the "Random Acts of Kindness" Requests for Cards on thecoolbuzz.com. People in need will be posted here along with the date of the posting. This is a great way to make a difference for another human being in need. Please understand that you are in no way obligated to send cards to these people, but if you are inspired, just follow your heart!
I have a Company that wants to do postcard bulk mailing at a "bulk" rate. Is this possible??
The system allows you to send Campaigns (Small and Large). We are not a "Bulk Mail" company. The postcards are "Oversized", so it requires a .39 stamp. However, large Bulk mail campaigns are not our target market. There are other companies better suited for that service. SendOutCards is THE BEST SERVICE IN THE WORLD FOR SENDING DAILY INDIVIDUAL HEARTFELT CARDS, CONVENIENTLY AND AT A LOW COST. The Campaign Service is GREAT, cost effective and easy to use and customize, however, we aren't a "bulk mail" company.
How long does it take for a letter to be delivered??
Cards are mailed from our distribution center in Salt Lake City daily (sometimes twice per day on heavy days). If you order the card in the evening, it is printed and shipped the next morning. Typically cards are delivered in 3-7 days. Once the post office has the card, its up to them. During the Holidays, cards can take up to 2 weeks due to Post Office backups.
What's the Potential?
The average person sends 1 greeting card per month. Since SendOutCards is so easy to use, most people send about 1 card per day! So we are creating a market of card senders by making it easy and inexpensive to use. In time, can you imagine just 10,000 people sending 100 Holiday Cards in a Campaign on this system? That's 1 million cards. You would earn between $50,000 and $300,000 just on those cards depending on your position in the company.
What's a Basic Strategy for Building a Team?
Very Simple: Understanding the principle that "you get back what you send out" (what comes around goes around), We have developed a very successful 3 step process. 1. Send at least 1 unexpected card per day. (this is a card expressing gratitude, thanks, happy birthday, nice to meet you, look forward to seeing you, etc). 2. Send at least 1 "First Look" card per day. (This card briefly describes the business and includes a free DVD explaining the System). 3. Walk at least 1 person per day through sending a card on a Gift Account.
Should I build Deep or Wide?
Both. You can't go deep unless you go wide. Build width for INCOME and depth for SECURITY. Look for the most excited people that are the deepest and newest in your organization, and spend most of your time with them. Go 5 wide at a time and then work with the 1 or 2 that are ready to go to work.
I went to "Purchase Products" Page and at top it says "Buy Prepaid cards." What does this do/mean?
If you want 1-10 prepaid $25 cards sent to you, so you can hand them out, this is the way to do it. Prepaid account cards get shipped to the address on file. The points and postage on the cards come from the existing points and postage in your account. All people who use these are under you’re account and provide for future revenue and are potential wholesale/distributor customers. This is a great way to introduce people you meet in person to SendOutCards.

VII. Getting Paid as a Distributor
Do I get paid the $120 Coaching Bonus for each person who becomes a Distributor or Wholesale Client?
Yes! You get $120 for each person you bring in as a Wholesale or as a Distributor. Remember make sure to sign each new customer up for a live webinar and train them on the basics before they get off phone: Send a Card, Add a Contact, Purchase Product, Add a group. The rest should be scheduled for another time.
What about a Retail Customer?
You don't get the $120, but you do earn .18 per point purchased. For example, you earn .18 for each postcard, .36 for each greeting card and .54 for each greeting card with a picture in it! If someone were to purchase Retail Package 2 the distributor would get a $14.70 profit.
With the purchase of Picture Plus the coach would get a $20 bonus. From then on a distributor earns 5% on "Personal Volume" which is the dollar amount that the distributor buys, along with what the customers buys.
When I "System Coach" someone and then go to the "Coaching Report" it still says NC (Not Coached). What's the deal?
The system "Updates" when the $120 check is cut to you (you can view it in your "Business Office" under "commissions"). Your check is cut 2 weeks after the Friday that the System Coaching is completed.
Do I get commission on cards I ship?
You get 5% on your Personal Volume which includes all points purchased by you and your customers.

VIII. The Future
Can I get a "branded" website that will allow someone to send cards from our company website with our logo?
Right now there is not a way to do this. As the company grows, there may be an department created that can implement this type of interface.
If I have suggestions for the company to make things better, who should I call?

We need more Custom Specialty Cards. Can you help?
There are 300-400 new cards being added each month. We are adding HUNDREDS OF NEW DISTRIBUTORS each month with the THOUSANDS of cards that we currently have. KEEP IT SIMPLE!! The system is working. It’s not broken. Personal, heart-felt cards that are written in your handwriting have the greatest impact by far (yes, even for business owners - people are people).
Kody says he wants to expand Worldwide and I have connections that can help him do it. What should I do?
You can currently sign up a customer anywhere in the world, but realize, at the present time, all cards are sent from Salt Lake City. Someone OVERSEAS can send a card to someone in the US and get it delivered in a few days with a US First Class stamp! We will be opening all English Speaking Countries for Business within 2-3 years (2008-2009 timeframe), however cards initially will be sent from the US. Here's the process for opening a country:
1. SOC announces that we have met the regulations to open a country.
2. Distributors can now build a team and begin recruiting in that country. All cards are shipped from the US until we hit 200 cards per day. Typically only the "Maverick" Distributors that want to be in on the Ground Floor will join at this phase.
3. When we hit 200 cards per day, a package will be OVERNIGHTED daily with the local stamp of that country, so cards will now get there with a local stamp and in a much more timely fashion.
4. When we hit 1000 cards per day, SOC will open a distribution center in that country with employees and a machine that will print cards locally.
